Philip

I met Philip on the playground during recess while failing my fifth grade year of Elementary School. He was hitting himself in the penis with his lunchbox. I pulled him aside and told him how unhealthy his behavior was and we’ve been BFF’s ever since.

Philip has actually been my friend since 5th grade and to this day we still keep in touch. It’s hard to remain close to friends as the years go by and certainly as you both move to different cities (wait, I’m still here…DAMN IT!). One fond memory I have of Philip is that he had what would now be considered an unhealthy adoration towards Garfield. What I mean is he had EVERY damn one of the Garfield books that came out. Remember those? Those sorta short, long books that were in black and white and had all of the not funny at all Garfield comic strips in them? Remember? Yeah, he had every damn one of’em. I remember this because I was (and still am) jealous. Why? Because Garfield will go down in history as one of the ONLY comic books ever to not provoke even a small laugh or smile. You heard it from me first, those are going to be worth money. Before I start my review, I’ve got one thing more I wanna tell you about Philip. And I probably shouldn’t say this because he’s my friend and all, I just think it’s funny. Every night when he goes to bed he has his lovely wife Nicole dress up in a homemade Garfield outfit he spent his college years making. I shit you not, my dear reader!! It’s true!! She dresses up as Garfield and he dresses up as John Arbuckle and here’s the weird part, she literally SPANKS him with his Garfield books!!! Is that not WEIRD?!! It’s crazy…he told me this one night over beers and I didn’t know what to think. I still don’t know what to think.

There are plenty of drawing applications in iTunes and it’s difficult to pick one. I prefer NetSketch but I can’t honestly tell you that I’ve tried any of the other ones. I bought NetSketch after seeing the video of two people drawing together over wifi. I thought that’d be cool but I haven’t even tried it yet. Not because I’m lazy, well, yeah I’m lazy. But I simply don’t draw a lot on my phone. The zooming in and out feature is great and scrolling around your image is easily done once you get the hang of it. There’s a lot of colors to choose from and you can change the size of your “brush” to any size you prefer. Plus you can email your artwork to friends and family (I’m going to email the above pic to Philip tonight and he’ll have no clue why I did it up until he decides to check this site at work tomorrow ;) ). This is the best app for drawing that I’ve seen but again, I don’t draw a lot. It can be very time consuming but oddly enough, relaxing. For the artists in the house:
