Starflyer 59

This has absolutely NOTHING to do with iPhone/iPod Touch applications, but I must spread the word on a band I’ve loved since my high school days. The band is Starflyer 59 and their latest album is titled “Dial M“. Like all of their previous albums, I have fallen in love with this one. But for all the different reasons I had in the past. Lyrics have never been a strong point in Jason Martin’s song writing so I’ve often ignored them. But this album is different. He recently lost his father and this album is his bleeding heart set on tape. It is one of the most personal, moving albums I have heard in a long time and I absolutely recommend it. From the attention to detail of each note to the unabashedly open lyrics, this album is a true work of art. I didn’t think that the first time I listened to it, but after a few listens it all hit me like a ton of bricks. Starflyer 59 is one of the most unrecognized bands I have ever seen and I really wish everyone could hear them. This album is amazing and if you’re bored with what you have or looking for something different, please give this record a shot. (For those that like to “sample” cds before purchasing: Minor Keys, Who Said It’s Easy?, M23 and particularly Mr. Martin (about his Dad, I think) are the singles you should spend a dollar on).
