Gone Fishin’

My day couldn’t have been any better. I was about to write how there’s seldom any new games out but lo and behold, the ONE game I have been waiting for FINALLY appeared!! :) Ever since I saw the video for Flick Fishing I was excited from the start. I’ve tried the other fishing games and I simply don’t like’em. Perhaps this game fits in with my self proclaimed ADD? They’re good games but there’s a little too much info for me…I just want to cast my rod and fish (and get that fish fairly quickly). Flick Fishing delivers on two accounts: 1. I enjoy how you can pick any lake and go. 2. There’s a tournament mode that is fast pace and is just long enough to be a “pick me up” kind of game while bored at work. The moving background is the real winner for me here. It feels more like you’re playing a game. The buttons and information are precise and to the point. You don’t have to know anything about lures and bait to figure out how to fish. Just pick a spot and cast your rod. One complaint I do have is that you can’t stick your own ear with a hook. Each fishing trip I go on, at least one time, I get my ear caught by my own hook. You see, I have very large ears. They protrude from my head as if listening in on a conversation I can’t hear. My ears hear it, but I don’t. And I think they wanna leave my head to go listen. My Dad and I have this inside joke…when I stick my ear with my hook, he yells, “Son, it looks like you caught a WHOPPER!!!”. And then we laugh and role around in the grass. We have such good times together. This game cannot be beat for 99c. I love it and I’m really impressed by it. I encourage you to go fishing.
