I found the above photo in an app called Astronomy Picture of the Day (iTunes). If I have to explain that to you, you’re a complete idiot and I ask that you leave this site at once. And don’t forget your shoes…they smell funny and I don’t like them. What’s great about the above picture is that it’s as if the Cosmos is giving you the finger. As if to say, “Hey check this shit out with your little telescopes you silly impotent human. HA HA HAAA!!!”. The app is free so be sure and grab it if you like feeling small and inferior. Some of the photographs are truly stunning.

She said she was picking up some over the counter medicine for your penisifus infection (was she being cute or serious? What is penisifus?!). I hope that shit clears up soon man, sorry to hear about that. I said to myself, “DAMN Nathum’s mom is HOT!” and then I realized that’s your dad’s new girlfriend. Alright, to the best of my knowledge, more than one person checks out this site every now and then. The above paragraph is me being silly. Who would name their kid Nathum anyways?! To see how many people enjoy reading my little nuggets of chocolatey goodness I use Google Analytics. It’s pretty useful and at times, depressing. I told you not ONE person from North Dakota has been here, didn’t I? Google has an app that does the same thing called Google Analytics (iTunes) That isn’t the exact name of the app but I’m not going to type it all out for you. Just click on the link…it’s horribly long. If you have a website and use Google Analytics, the app works just as well. There’s also a free version to check out if you don’t have any money.

I’m going to try and make this a short post because, honestly, I’m really excited about this app and could go on and on about it. I’ve always had a “gift” for reading people’s body language. I’m good at getting a certain “vibe” from people and learning a thing or two from it. Being in a certain predicament that I’m in at the moment, I wanted to really learn more about body language and how subtle hints give way to what people are really thinking and doing. So like anyone (including Oprah’s dog) I asked my friends on Twitter if there are any good books available that could help me. One friend told me to pick up the book “The Definitive Book of Body Language” by Alan and Barbara Pease. I read the book in a matter of days…absolutely loved it. When telling my friends of all the new information I’ve learned, my friend Brian said, “Dude get me a beer”. And then he said, “Man, you need to watch Lie to Me (iTunes link)”. I caught an episode on television and then instantly downloaded the series via iTunes. The show’s based on Paul Ekman’s studies of rapid facial movements and of course, lying. I’m currently devouring more books I won’t bore you with here but like the commercial says, “there’s an app for that”.

Body Talk (iTunes link) is an application that makes you piss yourself when you see it. Alright, I pissed myself when I saw it. It contains almost everything I’ve been reading about regarding body language. You simply scroll around looking for the gesture you just saw, look at the picture they have provided OR (and this is the cool part) you can watch a short clip in action (what’s really nice is that you stay in the app and are not taken to some website…I hate when apps do that).

And to top it all off, it contains a book that also is launched in the application itself. I’ve only read the introduction but it seems like a worthy read if you’re new to body language. I’m really excited that I have this information on my phone and can study “on the go”. I could go on and on but I won’t. I need to do some more studying.

After college I moved up north to Nevada. In need of money, I started working at a Bushtit farm (located 2 miles west of Mill City). Bushtits are a special species of birds that travel in flocks of up to 60 until breeding season, at which time they separate for mating. Their nests are actually quite amazing. Ranging from spiderwebs to moss to other found plant material, the Bushtit creates it’s nest similar to that of a hanging basket. You’ll be impressed to know that after the female has laid her egg, the male will actually help incubate it! Sometimes, if it’s cold enough, BOTH parents will incubate the egg. I was always impressed watching them as even other birds (not just the parents) will help feed the baby birds. It’s a truly unique species. My job, for the few months that I worked there, was to provide fresh blankets and pillows to the mating birds so that their “evening alone” was successful.

Bushtit on a limb

Alright, like always, I’m lying and making up crap. But what I’m not making up are the above facts. I learned all about the Bushtit from iBird Explorer South (iTunes link). Obviously from the thousands of posts you’ve read here, it’s safe to say I love animals. I had been hesitant to buy this application because of the hefty asking price but it’s completely worth it. This app is FULL of useful information and PLENTY of birds. I don’t know anything about birds (besides how funny it is when you’re friends/loved ones get crapped on) but because of all the info packed in this application, I feel like I’m getting there. I wish you could search for species in more simple terms (ex: that bird with the orange thingy on it’s head and yellow tail) but, you can’t. Searching through the abundant database can be time consuming but in the end it’s fun looking at all the different species. Special note: if your job requires you to meet people outside or being outside in general this application is a great distraction when you’re bored. You’ll find yourself looking up crows just to learn a new fact to share (bore) with your friends.

We’ve all enjoyed going to the art museum. Not so much for the artwork, per se, but more so for the fact that we wonder, in our dark little minds, if we could take on the 80 year old guard that’s guarding that “masterpiece” that could pay our monthly rent for the next 2 years.
